Ready to Grow Gardens is proud to be the oldest garden-based education company working with schools in NW Houston for over 15 years.
During the 2019-2020 school year, we are partnering with thirty schools teaching our Garden Day curriculum to students Prek – 5th grade as well as offering professional design, installation, and management services for school garden classrooms.
Our program offers a unique garden based science curriculum for every grade level focusing on educationally appropriate, fun activities that inspire students to thrive in an outdoor classroom.
Our philosophy is that a school garden should be a fun, interactive learning center, not just pretty landscaping. In the garden students are encouraged to actively investigate, discover, question, predict, and think outside the box. On scheduled garden days one of our experienced garden teachers spends the day teaching lessons for the grade level chosen by the school.
Whether shoveling soil, planting seeds, recording the growth of seedlings, or harvesting and tasting an organic vegetable for the first time, boys and girls of all ages love to learn in a garden!
Stephanie successfully utilizes her Master Gardener expertise to create spectacular student/school vegetable and flower gardens. Students have responded with astounding enthusiasm and have learned much more than any textbook could ever teach them!

Stephanie’s ability to work with students is outstanding. She presents new information using hands on strategies and makes learning relevant to students. She relates garden experiences to classroom curriculum so that students are making connections and seeing science in action.

I highly recommend Ms.Baker and her gardening program. It is a class that our students look forward to every week.
– Todd Sepulveda, Assistant Principal of Copeland Elementary
She is passionate about helping students learn about gardening and apply it to their learning. I first met Stephanie when I was volunteering in a garden program at REACH Unlimited. Stephanie, being a Texas Master Gardener, helped me learn about the right type of soil, correct drainage, as well as, growing plants.
